For every cargo that enters the European space an Entry Summary declaration (ENS) is required. In Belgium this is applicable when Antwerp, Zeebrugge or Ghent is the first European port of call.
The timing that needs to be respected for this declaration :
√ For shortsea, at the latest 2 hours before arrival in the first port of call in the EU.
√ For containers (deepsea), at the latest 24 hours before loading in the port of departure.
√ For bulk/general cargo, at the latest 4 hours before arrival in the first port of call in the EU.
